hey guys , i am gonna swap a 4.0 into my 2000 because i no longer like my 3.0 , it was a good engine , but i just dont like it that much

so i was wondering , what all do i need , i am gonna be getting the engine trans and computer , but do i need the wiring harness also , or can i use the harness that is in my truck

also , are there any other things i need , accessories , etc ?

thanks guys

Right off in addition to the things you mentioned. The engine harness is different and manual/automatic specific. The body harness is the same. If the 3.0 is flex fuel you may need to change the frame harness to get rid of the "fuel valve" under the drivers seat mounted on the frame. You will need new compressor hoses, on the 4.0 they run behind the engine and on 3.0's they are in front. When you change the computer you will most likely run into a pats problem. The computer won't recognize the original pats keys from your truck so you should get all the locks from the donor truck if possble. Also the radiator & heater hoses, the crossover pipe, cruise cable, intake tube, and MAF sensor.

i noticed when i disconnected the fuel lines on the explorer i got the engine from that there were 2 lines , and i only remember disconnecting one on my ranger , is this correct , if it is , how do i correct the problem
