Pulling the tranny, how much clearance do I need below the truck?

I'm pulling my 5spd tranny from my 2000 4x4 to do the clutch.

How much clearance do I need below the truck? I am only going to use jackstands, no lift.

Thanks.

I can vouch for the jackstands, It'd be a little tight just on the ground by my memory but with the jackstands I had no problems.

I've only done it once ('99 with auto trans) and I very carefully determined how high the jack stands needed to be so that I would be able to get the trans out. I ended up having to jack up the front of the truck to get it out.

I've done 2wd with all 4 wheels on cinderblocks, holes up, with wood in the holes as chocks.

Gives you plenty of room for the DRIVESHAFT BOLTS (you'll need to swing a breaker bar if not using an air impact).
