I have a 88 Bronce 2 with auto lock hubs,when in 4x4 mode and the front wheels are at full turn either way the axels are binding up

Don't turn all the way, the u-joints bind. The faster you go the worse it is.

Probably need to replace all of the front joints. I'm sure they are old and corroded if they are binding like that. I wouldn't use the 4wd until you get them replaced. The shafts aren't available new.
