Lately my truck(2.9L BII 1988 4X4)has been getting smoking hot on the passenger side floor board and the tranny hump,My exhaust has been leaking
but im having a hard time trying to figure if it the manifold to block or the pipe to manifold connections(due to the heat while its running).I have replaced the 02 and the truck seems to be running rich, also it bogs down really bad.Do theese symptoms sound familiar to anyone.

I have tested the ect sensor and the act sensor as well they checked out
but i might replace them anyways.

run some seafoam thru it. that might help a little. if in doubt ask alland.

done that it helped but i want to know if anyone has expierienced theese symptoms thnx though

oh yea.... mess with the orange wire thats comes from the o2 sensor. its the ground. it may need to be messed with

Start the truck, go to the back. Put your hand close to the exhaust without touching it. If you feel very little air flow and it is VERY hot, you have a plugged cat.

thats a good idea toms thnx ill try that tomorrow with results

oh yeah that pussy is gonna get toasty lol

does the truck idle fine but struggle to gain rpm? if you run it at night, open the hood after its been running awhile, something the manifolds will get hot enough to glow.

my the cat on my s10 plugged it refused to gain rpm, idled fine but bogged down when trying to gain rpm. also had a change in exhaust note.

Yep, that happens too. It will seem like the trans is slipping because it will be sluggish as hell. We had an Olds Alero come in the other day and that's how we figured the cat was plugged.

so i felt the exhaust coming out it was hot n moist oh ya! but the flow coming out didnt seem to feel to forceful, also i
plugged the end of the tail pipe with a rag and it is letting exhaust out somewhere
but i goota get a buddy to help look and the orange wire looks to be fine.
im gonna get the backpressure cheked tomorrow thanks for the help guys
