i have a 96 3.0 with an automatic. When i purchased the truck it was not running, i figured it would be a simple fix. I was wrong. I have been through the entire engine, it has spark, it definately is getting fuel. It has compression. The cam position sensor, throttle position sensor, idle air control, timing chain, plugs and wires are new. For some reason the engine seems to be flooding itself. i can get the engine to run if i turn the key on and crank the engine, stop cranking, kick the fuel pump shutoff under the dash, crank the engine till it starts and quickly reset the fuel pump shutoff. it runs terrible, but it is enough to move it in and out of the shop, usually. My next guess is the mass air flow sensor? the CEL is not on, and there are no codes other than the drive cycle not complete because the battery was dead. HELP! this i the last 3.0 ranger i will ever own. The 4.0 and 2.3 are bullet proof!

check the MAFS and jus cause thetps is new doesnt mean its at the right voltage. it could be lots of things the ecu could be bad the fuel pressure regulator could be bad. and as far as spark goes the coil pack could be bad and not be puttin out enough spark to fire and or the plugs could be out of gap
