hi, i have a 94 ranger(manual/4x4/electric transfer case/4.0).

does anyone know where i can get a new or resurfaced flywheel? or maybe know the part number?. I've searched and wen't to a couple local auto parts stores and all they had when looking up my truck were 6bolt flywheels and no 8bolt ones?.

thanks for the help!.

That's because all 1994s have 6 bolt flywheels.

If yours has 8, it's not a 1994.

The 8-bolt flywheels were only used from late 1997-on.

If, after fully researching what you have, you truly need an 8 bolt flywheel - let me know - i have a couple of brand new ones and you can have one for the shipping price.

thanks guys, i've been racking my brain about this.

it seems that my 94 ranger has had either an engine swap to the 97up 4.0 or just the bottom end, if possible.

*new question*

the 94 manual is a parts truck i'm using to swap my 94 automatic ranger(4x4, electric transfer case, 4.0) to standard 5spd.

so to my understanding, i'll need a new 6bolt 4.0 flywheel for the automatic truck but can i use the manual flywheel bolts off the 8bolt engine? if that makes sense?.

in other words, are the flywheel bolts off a 8bolt 4.0 the same as 6bolt 4.0?.

here's a pic of one that came off my 8bolt fly:

thanks again!

Same thread same length smaller diameter head.

Yes, the later bolt will work on a 6-bolt flywheel.
