Right so I bought the hurst shifter for my '07 ranger and got to step 5 where I have to remove the stock shifter base. The 3 screws are rusty and now are almost stripped. Any have this problem before or have ideas on how to get it out without damaging anything important?

The correct size TORX bit.... on your '07 they should be T-30
...and those three screws should come right out.

That's what I used, and it didn't work.

Well....umm....they should come right out. Are you rotating them counter-clockwise/lefty loosey? They'll come right out....whats so hard about it? It's a '07....how much rust can there be on it?

I installed one on a freakin' '94. lol.

Those three torx screws aren't all that tight.

there is a tiny dab of yellow pre-applied loctite on them...
but I've never needed more than a 1/4" drive spintight handle
(a screwdriver handle to turn a 1/4" drive socket) to get them out.

what seems to be the issue? is the torx bit slipping?
