I know, a little off-topic for here, but my Dad's 2006 F150 XL (work truck) has only an AM/FM radio. My son's 2002 Madza had a factory AM-FM/CD player that should slide right into the F150.

The problem is that while the stock radio from the Mazda (which looks just like the one that was in my '06 Escape Hybrid) has the 4-hole pattern to insert removal tools and pop it out. The F150's radio is a smooth-face unit with nothing obvious about how it comes out. Any advice? Will the 2002 unit indeed slide right in, but not stay in without the same type of housing in the dash?

The radio in the F150 is held in by four (or two depending on the dash) 9/32-inch (or 7mm) screws. The dash snaps off. Using a panel tool or a hook tool, gently pry off the dash panel.

Now before you go to all that trouble, the Mazda radio WILL NOT fit. Also the plugs for both radios are different.
