Whilst I was working behind the dash on my Ranger I found the following object.

Mystery Object, Anyone Shed Any Light Please?


It's about 2 1/2" across with a tail and looks like an antenna of some sort, garage opener maybe?



It has a sticky pad on one side.

That is an antenna. I'm not sure what it was there for, it's not a Ford part. It may be from an aftermarket stereo or alarm.
 
An antenna would have coax cable on it. Looks like a shock sensor from an alarm system
 
heres a question, did you buy the vehicle new or used. if you bought it used it could have been a company vehicle of some sort and that would have been a satelite antenna to keep tabs on where the vehicle. when i worked as a tech at an international dealer i used to install units all the time

Bought it used and it's many thousands of miles from home here in the uK :-)

I think you could be right however!
