Fan Clutch

I've never had a vehicle that's had a fan clutch before, so how do you tell when it's shot? I've noticed the vehicle running a little warmer than normal lately and I'm suspecting the fan clutch. Whether the vehicle is cold or hot, the clutch feels the same resistance (mind you, I'm not 100% sure what it's supposed to feel like when it is engaged!). Thermostat was replaces a few months ago so it's fairly new.

The fan clutch on my old bronco ii went out it sounded like i was driving an air boat down the road. The fan will spin at the engines speed when you rev the engine you'll hear the fan rev up with it too, instead of spinning at lower rpms like it was supposed too.

I don't know if it can break the other way and not spin at all or something like that...

FYI...the threads on that fan clutch are left handed.

it just a thermo spring...the warmer it gets the faster it is suppose to spin, thus moving more air. and yes they can go bad, symptoms as discribed in earlier post.
