Replacing Engine Oil Pan on 2006 4x4

I have a 2006 4x4 Ranger with a 4.0 Liter V6. I bought it used and found the drain plug had cross threaded threads. Can the oil pan be replaced without raising the engine? It has the stamped steel oil pan not the cast aluminum like on the earlier 4.0 liters.
