ok so i swapped an identical automatic transmission into my ranger today its a 2001 4.0 automatic 5r55e 4x4 . i think i need more transmission fluid its got 4 and a half quarts in it, as it sometimes wants to hesitate goin. my main problem is my shift cable is way off.. drive is neutral reverse is somewhere in there and 2 seems to be drive. when the lever is in the neutral position the truck will start as well as in park as it should. my question is how the heck do you adjust the thing so it will hit the selection marks right.....all i did was unhook the lever then re attach it on the new transmission so how the heck did i get so far off... :annoyed::idiot:
