I was told that the front driveshaft from a FM145 will bolt right into a D35 and bw1350. Is the same true for the FM146?

No, it would be a FM145.

You would use the FM145 application 1350 shaft with a D35 and FM146/M5OD/A4LD to avoid shortening your original shaft, as a FM145 application shaft would be about 1.5-1.75" shorter than the longer trans shaft.
