So I have a 99 Ranger 4X4 with the M5OD trans on it currently. In my garage I have a T-5 from an early to mid-80's Mustang/T-Bird 2.3L 4cylinder. My M5OD is making a fuss about second gear, and I would like to put this T-5 to good use. I saw on the tech list the article about doing the swap <a href="http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/T5for29.html">(link to article)</a>, but it seems to me that only applies to the 2.9 V6, and the part numbers are no longer available. What would I need to do in order to swap this transmission? Is it worthwhile? Would I need new driveshafts?
