Has anyone installed gauge inserts?

Ive been thinking about buying some gauge inserts for my 98 ranger with a tach. I have heard you cant get the needles back right and ive heard different. Any guys have any tips/info on them? I love the look but not sure if its worth the trouble.

working carefully, u can place em back, but why not some sport trac gauges?? they look better than some gauge faces i've seen.

I removed my faces when I switched to LEDs to remove the green color. If you do it right (IE not guess and check) it can be very easy. I documented what I did here:

For a 98, I'd think everything but the speedo item would still apply.
