I have a 92' Ranger, originally swapped in a 4.0l out of a 91 Explorer about a year ago. This last weekend I put in a M5OD out of a 94' explorer to replace my auto.

I have everything put in the truck running and shifting, but for the life of me I cannot get the press in connection to the clutch slave to not leak under pressure. I have tried several O-rings on the tend of it and still no luck. It is a brand new slave I did not take the old one from the explorer.

Another question I had was that I read in the writeup in the Technical Library that I needed to re-time the engine because it is different Manual vs Auto. I grabbed the computer from the 94' explorer, how long should it take for it to re-time the engine? If I understand it right hte 94' computer should work with the 91' engine, I thought I remembered seeing a chart of what RBV's came with what computer in the tech library, but can't seem to find it now. Thanks for the help

The trans came from a 1994, did the slave cylinder come on the trans?

what did the clutch line come off of?

Ford changed the slave cylinder going into 1993.

The 1988-92 aluminum slave cylinder has a "black" colored coupler body.

The '93-current slave cylinder has a gold/yellow coupler

The two different colored couplers are NOT compatible.

You either need a 1993-94 clutch line
OR you need to drop the trans and replace the slave with one from
a 1988-92 so it matches your black line.
