about 3 yrs ago i had to replace upper and lower balljoints on both sides for state inspection, and i used aftermarket parts from advance. after it was fixed, i had it aligned and had the tech crank my torsion bars to level my truck. after about 2 yrs i had to replace an upper balljoint again. is this a common problem with a torsion bar crank, or is it the cheaper parts? now i do put between 20-30 k (miles) on it a year. when i replaced the upper again i used a motorcraft ball joint which is greaseable. is the more expensive part the solution?

Yes and no. Cranking the T-bars put the joints at an angle and they can bind when off roading, large bumps, steep drive ways, etc. So, you're going to have accelerated joint wear.

However, using a house brand ball joint didn't help. Even with cranked T-bars, 50kkm is premature failure.

Motorcraft is good. With cranked T-bars, I'd use Moog. But that's just me.

hey thanks for the input man. if i have any more balljoint problems i am gonna switch to moog parts. how do they compare in price with motorcraft? i spent like $150 for the motorcraft upper (the control arm included).

$50ea + cost to have them pressed into the control arms.
