I have an 86 ranger, 2.9, V6, manual tranny, eletronic shift transfer case. The ranger is put into 4wd by pushing the 4x4 buttons on the roof where the map lights are. The problem is there is no power. I have looked for a fuse in the fuse panel, couldn't find one for the 4x4 system, I checked all the fusible links off the starter solenoid, all read good from the ohms meter. I checked the reset button on the computer module (located just underneth the top of the dash.) The buttons have no lights, the computer LED was not lite, the stepper motor has no power. What am I missing here. Also, is there a cable kit that would replace the servo motor? Please any info. would be great appreciated.

there is no manual conversion for an electric transfer case.
you can however bolt in a manual transfer case out of another ranger or B2.

There are two sources of power for the electronic shft control on
a Ranger/Bronco2 '86-88...
Fuse #6 in the interior fuse panel.
This also powers the cruise control,
Rear window wiper/washer control,
cruise control, "lamps out" and Digital clock (if equipped)
this is a white wire with a purple stripe and is hot in run or accy.
The other power source is fuse link P (red 20ga)
which feeds to a black wire with a white stripe
and is hot at all times.
BOTH of these wires go directly to the control unit
which on your truck may be under the access panel
in the metal top of the dash.
also check the grounds, both the black wire and the black wire with the orange stripe.
