Since 4.0L after market stuff is near next to impossible to find what is the next best thing? Make your own. Angie is a painter and does spray and air brushing, together we have painted 4 vehicles and many odd jobs. (she specializes in motor bikes). I want to have blue covers with a silver ford oval on these when I get them finished. I sprayed them last night and want to know what you guys think of these? My plan is to paint the block and oil pan white and polish the aluminium intake.
thanks

I am thinking about taking custom orders for these or ones painted to any colour that is requested. The plug wire holders have been shaved I will place in the old school (off the valve cover) wire holders. Just wondering what type of interest there would be in these? and how many people in here are into customizing under the hood of their trucks? (I am hoping to cut and spray the Ford ovals by the end of the week, will update pics when done) last night I sprayed the water intake pipe and the large air induction same metallic blue... looks sharp :)
thanks

LOL, I thought this was going to be a thread about actually making custom valve covers. Color looks good though, good luck keeping the white engine clean. :icon_thumby: I am going to have the same problem with my ninja turtle green 5.0L.

Hey copycat, that looks sharp :) and yep same idea that I have also, since this is a complete rebuild and I have a spare parts truck full of goodies it is great to be able to have the time to pull stuff off the truck and prime then paint it up while doing the rebuild. I am thinking of doing all brackets and pulleys in flat black, and all the other little doodads are going to be white.
is that a KN filter? and did you have to mod the box to make it fit in there like that? and was that a build up? looks good.
RDR what are you looking to have done? I am game to try stuff (as long as your not in a fast hurry or panick) I would have to know what your motor is and year for I would hate to find covers at pick-a-part to later send to you and they aren't going to fit. would you want the silver FORD inside the oval? after I get mine done i will show ya. here is what the intake looks like tonight.
Pete. one thing about a white block it is easy to find the oil leaks... LOL
