As for their only good song being "45"? Please,
hardly their best, unless you are refering to the
acoustic version...

They have three CD's and that one was THE hit off their first
How about their cover of Skynyrd's "Simple Man"?
"Burning Bright" or "Lost in the Crowd"...

The Thing that made 45 popular wiht broadcast radio is that they refused to edit the song's lyrics for MTV and MTV banned them...

It was the gun reference to 45:) How lame...

"Save Me" off their 2nd CD or "What a Shame" off their 3rd CD

If you go by what you hear on FM radio you don't learn much
about music...

I'll bet you have no idea about who Rhino Bucket is without
googling them or looking them up on allmusic.com.

How about Evans Blue? or Egypt Central?

As for Rush, personally I could survive on a desert island
with of all my music, but all the rest of Rush's music catalog outside of the five albums from "Power Windows" to "Counterparts" were lost getting ashore.
(NO I couldn't go on Rush alone but when I want to listen to Rush I listen to those five albums)

Hell on my way TO the Junkyard I generally play Disturbed or Megadeth.
I play Tom Petty or Rush on the drive home...


Oh, and I never play Great White when transfering fuel....

thats interesting, most people like the 4-5 albums between a farewell to kings and signals the best, then only like certain albums afterwards. Me myself, I get into a album and listen to it for a while, then go up or down a decade and listen to that genre a while. I always go back to hold your fire for a good relaxed cruisin album though. I must say my favorites are hold your fire, grace under pressure, and permanent waves.

thats interesting, most people like the 4-5 albums between a farewell to kings and signals the best, then only like certain albums afterwards. Me myself, I get into a album and listen to it for a while, then go up or down a decade and listen to that genre a while. I always go back to hold your fire for a good relaxed cruisin album though. I must say my favorites are hold your fire, grace under pressure, and permanent waves.

I consider "Presto" to be their best album, but that's just my opinion

Rush's style has evolved over their career and as it has done so their audience has changed...

There is other music of theirs I listen to, but if I could only have Five Rush Albums they'd be "Power Windows", "Hold your Fire", "Presto", "Roll The Bones"
& "Counterparts".

If you go by what you hear on FM radio you don't learn much

As for Rush, personally I could survive on a desert island
with of all my music, but all the rest of Rush's music catalog outside of the five albums from "Power Windows" to "Counterparts" were lost getting ashore.
(NO I couldn't go on Rush alone but when I want to listen to Rush I listen to those five albums)

Hell on my way TO the Junkyard I generally play Disturbed or Megadeth.
I play Tom Petty or Rush on the drive home...


Oh, and I never play Great White when transfering fuel....

Age has little to do with it, at your age (I'm only 10 yrs older) I new alot of bands becasue I grew up and listened to alot of music that was from "before my time) from the 50's on.

And the comment about shindown having only one good song and couldn't be a "serious music persons favorite" is a very opinionated statement that seems to show your age. I could say the same about Incubus if I thought like that, I personally do not like one song I've heard of theirs, but music is about personal taste not just what you like.

Great list. the only band I don't like is ICP(is it insane clown pussy or icey pee?). love pearl jam and Hunger strike but its the only song I ever heard from temple of the dog. Favorite band? I listen to anything from Beethoven to Rob Zombie. It depends on what mood I’m in! The groups I have seen the most in concert has been Blue Oyster Cult (3 Times) and Stevie Nicks (once by herself in 1994 a week after I got my Ranger and once with Fleetwood Mac last April). I’m always finding Indie artists on Myspace and Pandora. I can’t deal with raw country that much but pop country is ok. I can tolerate some of the more “composed” rap stuff out there.

Not too long after I made that list I finally found my Alice in Chains CD. It's the Best of the Box, but I had forgot I had it. I pissed myself off about four years ago when I bought that album. It had an orange cd case, but I dropped it and broke it all to hell that night. Argh...



Needless to say, it's now all on my MP3 player since I found the cd again. Would?, Them bones, Down in a Hole, and Get Born Again are my top played songs from that one. I love "Rooster", just not so much on the live version.


Thank you all for liking what I'm into. I still love ICP, but I have grown out of them quite a bit from what I used to be.
