I have a 1994 Ranger XLT, std cab, 2.3L, manual transmission...with 10K miles...that I just inherited (yes ten thousand!).

My question 1: Which path should I go to mod my intake? The battery is on the drivers side so there is a nice empty area in front of the washer/coolant reservoirs that screams to be filled with a conical intake....but no one lists one for a 1994 (i.e. K&N, Volant, etc...)

My Question 2: Since the engine has only 10K miles... I would like to preserve it as much as possible (for now!)...any other thoughts on mods for increased performance with out spending the bank?

Thanks

Inherited in 2009 with 10K miles!!

Mods to date: Exploder OHC, Mustang Dome, Lighted Vanity Mirrors, New Headliner, Dynamat Extreme the cab roof, Sony Xplod Head Unit with Ipod connection and new 5"x7"s, LED's in the instrument cluster and the rest of the interior lights......

If you want to get power out of a 2.3 liter, put a turbo on it. Other then that you wont get much of a power increase out of a 2.3 with other upgrades. But wow 10k miles is great for a 94 ranger.

Thanks for the info...just checking to see if there was anything reasonable to play around with...
