1) not sure i'd pay $109 for quicker shipping....
2) not sure you need 12gb of memory for a 2.66ghz processor... i would say go down on the mem a bit, and up on the CPU
3) do you really need 64bit windows?

i just kinda threw it together not thinking about it much. how much ram should i put on the prossesor? 6gb sound good?
and 64 bit is same price as 32 bit

i mean the more memory you have, the quicker programs will open back up and stuff.... i mean i think 6GB would be slight overkill to max you really need to go.. unless you are absolutely running today's TOP TOP TOP NOTCH games or complex video editing...

and if you're doing that, then your processor is way too midline...

i mean it's pretty cheap for corsair and for the amount you are getting.... it won't hurt to get it, but if you do that your memory will outlast the rest of your components (meaning the memory will hold up to demands of programs possibly 5 years down the road, obviously no promise with the rate technology advances in this day and age), but if you're going to get 12gigs (which like i said is actually really great for the price and it'll be worth it IFFFF) you get at least a 3.0 ghz processor. see if you can get a quad core processor... it's basically like having 4 brains instead of 1

the 2.66 is a quad core but the 3.0ghz($300) puts the price a little high.
the 12gb ram is the 1333 or something

Wait for Windows 7, or at least wait until you can upgrade to Windows 7 for free when it comes out if CyberPower offers that.

Dont know if your looking just a Desktop or not but I play alot of high demand games and this is where me and my friends buy our laptops at. These guys laptops will do anything a desktop can and the quality of them are great. Just google their reviews. Check out there website. http://www.xoticpc.com/

Windows 7 has some extra features and it's a little bit quicker. I wouldn't go with XP now, it's a 9 year old operating system, I still have it, but when I upgrade to a new computer I will be getting Windows 7.

Well, if you buy the computer before Windows 7 comes out (which is October 22) then you can either dual boot it with Vista, or just do a fresh install. You install from a DVD. You can do a backup of your files and then load them onto 7 when you install it or if you dual boot it then you can drag your files from Vista onto 7.

dude you go to newegg and build the same system for a fraction of the cost. Also Im not sure if I would trust the water cooling system they are trying to sell you. Ive built many custom computers and liquid cooled computers. Honestly if it were me ditch the water cooling and build it yourself it isnt hard at all. If you are not overclocking your computer you dont need liquid cooling.

Me and Grunizzle have done several water cooling builds , if you're gonna do water cooling, do it right, most of the pre packaged kits are scary and they don't cool as well as a good air cooler. 4GB of RAM is plenty. I'm personally running a QX9650 at 4GHz and a "216 core" GTX260 and 2GB of RAM and it runs anything I throw at it, the only thing I could use is 4GB of RAM to run GTAIV better, while playing the game my RAM is at 95% capacity. And get 64Bit if you want windows to recognize more than 3.25GB of RAM. And if you think you can do it or have a friends that can help, buying the parts and building is a lot cheaper. I don't know about you but I like hard drive space, I've got 2 500GBs and a 320GB and wish I had more.

Those are some sick systems....I say stick with the 2.66 and overclock it! :icon_thumby: Youd have to keep a sharp eye on it though, with that watercooling system. Id say back down on the RAM too...get 6 so you look cooler than everyone else with 4...but i know someone that has an 8gig rig and he said the highest he can possibly get his mem usage is 63%.

if it's your money he can't really control it can he?

that's what i pulled on my mom to be able to buy half the shit i do.

otherwise i'd never have been able to order a sub/amp, build a box, and even think about upgrading stuff on my truck.

If its for college a laptop is a lot more useful than a desktop in the sense of portability. If its a year old it will obviously work fine for word processing, e-mail, web browsing, etc. My laptop is almost 2 years old, bought it October 2007 (after graduating BMT) and it still does everything I need it to, not good for gaming though. If you don't load a whole lot of junk onto the laptop it should remain pretty quick (I'm dual booting Vista/Windows 7 beta, Vista has all the junk, and Windows 7 I keep clean and use whenever I just need to use the internet, it's quick).

I used to be into PC gaming but the problem with it is the technology changes to fast and you are constantly spending money upgrading your computer trying to keep up. In terms of money it will make a lot more sense to just get a small LCD TV (20" maybe) and a Xbox 360 or PS3. You won't have to upgrade them anytime soon and the cost of entry is a lot less. I was thinking of the same thing you are and the Xbox land up making a lot more sense in terms of money. The only game that I can think of that is widely popular and exclusive to PC is WoW, and I was never able to get into it. Just my opinion.

That price is too steep even for an extreme system...unless you're doing work for ET or have the money to blow, I'd go with the above offer...^^

I built mine for just over $300...sure, there are dinosaur tracks all over the inside, but it works...

i would buy mjonesjr's computer but my dad said to save my money for college and said he wont let me get it. he also said just use the laptop until you get back.
