So the wiring was amazingly simple so far just laying it around the engine bay, and today i went to drop the motor in the truck. This is going into a 1989 bII that used to have the 2.9 in it. I've already thrown away the old 2.9 motor mounts and bought brand new 4.0 motor mounts assuming they would be identical to the 2.9's. The driver's side mount lines up perfectly, but it seems like the passenger side's 4.0 motor mount's alignment dowel doesn't line up with were the 2.9's mount dowel was. Is there a difference in the passenger side motor mount from a 2.9 to a 4.0? I'm talking about the alignment dowel going into the engine crossmember too, not the one on the engine's side of the mount. Do I need to get a 2.9 liter passenger side motor mount? can I just cut the alignment dowel off or should I drill a hole for it? This is the only hurdle I've ran into thus far, its been been extremely smooth going.
