Well I have got the point of desperation. I love my truck a 99 b3000 troy lee, but the transmission has given me nothing but problems since around the 85,000 since then now at 104,000 it has had to go back to the tranny shop 8 TIMES!!!!!!! each time it is something that he and all of the other tranny mechaniics find odd to wear out such as the intermidiate shift piston has went out 4 times, different little sensors here and there......
I'm to the point now where it is working fine ,for now,(I got it back a week ago..lol) and it is up for sale.......I have a whole host of people set up to come and drive it on this saturday, hoping they will fight over it ..lol

My real question is simple, is there any other auto transmission I can mount up to this 3.0l engine with possibly some sort of adapter kit?

I really dont want to sell her, but she is forcing me too i have done so much to her from her early days stock and riding low(UGH!) and plus it was my first truck....and with my luck as soon as I do sell her, the transmission will last forever with no problems...

YOu sound like you would really regret it if you sold it. I wouldn't if you like it that much. Maybe just head to a junkyard and look for the same tranny with lower miles.

The M5OD-R2 is from the full size trucks and does not fit the 3.0L....

Doesn't fit the 2.8, 2.9, 3.0 or 4.0L....It came in full size pickups with v8's and the 4.2L v6 and 4.9L straight 6.

The M5OD-R1 and R1HD came in RBV.

X2. Plus I'm almost certain the R2 has an integral cast bellhousing.

Back to the original topic.

There is several possibilities, I have seen them. So some looking around wouldn't hurt. I know you're specifically looking for an auto tranny, but for terms of reliability, the M5OD-R1 is the way to go. It seems that almost any Ranger auto tranny has a shorter than normal life span.

All the more reason to go 4.0 and M5OD-R2!
I must have skipped that it was a 3L and thought it was a 4L. I was under the impression that the R2 fit the 4L execpt for one hole was missing. Also hope you got a good deal out of the sale.

*edit* i found where i went wrong, i was thinking about the m5oD-R1 HD
