Hey, im just wondering if a 1994 2.3 trans will work with a 1998 2.5 engine, will i need to change any of the wiring ? it should bolt up the block right? i have a complete parts truck so i have everything i need if i need it but if i have to go changing wiring harness then ill just sell both the trucks, but i paid 25 for the 94 with 159 xxx kms, so i couldnt pass it up and im good with mechanics so let me know if it will be to hard or not, i know i need to remove the shifter from the auto and change the column cover, do i need to change the column to ? and i need to remove the cable, and dont i have to disconect the computer for the auto trans? anyways let me know asap please.:shok:

The 5sp should physically bolt in, but none of the wiring will be the same. You will not necessarilly need to sway the column, but to swap it looks more clean. Youll need to work out the backup lights, and nutral safety switch.

So other then the neutral saftey and reverse lights the trans shouldnt have any problems? i know that the trans will bolt to the block, but will any of the cross member mounts need to be changed? are the trans the same lenghs or will i need a different driveshaft? and what about my trans were it has a computer? can i just unplug the computer or ?
