92 A4LD 4x2 direct bolt in for 93 4x4?

I was just wondering if an A4LD out of a 92 3.0L 4x2 would be a direct bolt in for 93 3.0L 4x4?

From what I have read the answer is yes, but I want to make sure before I might possibly buy a parts truck on the weekend.

f you want that transmission to work you must dissassemble the 2wd trans and install the output shaft extension housing and valvebody from the 4x4 trans. otherwise you will make your 4x4 into a 4x2

how big of a job would it be to do the disassembly and reassembly? Has anyone else here done this job? The parts truck has like new tires/rims and a great running engine, and I could pick it up for $400. Do you guys think it would be worth while, or just keep looking for a trans out of a 4x4?
