I have been having some weird problems with my parking brake light. It stays on once my truck has been turned off. This is killing my battery slowly since I dont drive my truck very often. Also, the parking brake light will not come on when I do put my parking brake on. I checked the switch, its connected. Also my brake fluid level is good. I have also seen a problem in the past with my high beam indicator light, the indicator would go out when i turned my head lights on. Now the high beam indicator doesn't work at all.

Any ideas of what I can check, or how I can disable the parking brake light would be awesome.

Thanks

I have a slew of 93 schematics in .pdf format that I'll be happy to send you.

PM me your e-mail address and I'll get them out this afternoon.

Are you saying that your rear brake lights stay on? That has to be the foot pedal BOO switch, easily replaced and readily available.

If your PB indicator light is the culprit, I have a schematic that covers that, I'm sure. It is only powered with key in Run, so it shouldn't be killing the battery.

My rear brake lights work properly. Its my parking brake light indicator. It stays on with the key in the off position or with the key OUT.

Sounds like you ignition isn't turning all the way...

There could be many things contributing to the dead battery in that case.

I wonder if simply swapping the key cylinder might solve this.
