does a 1994 transmission out of a 2.3 4 cyl. fit on an 1984 2.3?

Presuming you are talking about a 5sp...
Yes, but you'll need to:
1)Get a different driveshaft.
2)relocate the transmission crossmember
3)Extend the shifter hole in the floor FORWARD
4)replace the clutch line with one from an '89-92
OR get the clutch master cylinder AND line from the 1994 donor
If you are talking aobut an automatic? No.
