Rebuild the OHV or invest in SOHC

So I got to half compression in all cylinders on my 4.0 with 164xxx miles and swapped out to an OHV (93 Exploder) with 69,xxx miles. Apparently had a coolant leak and f***ed something up. Probably a cracked head or two. So I'm out $400 bucks and the question is to rebuild one or both OHV's or just buy a used SOHC for $700ish

If you choose the former how much would roughly cost to rebuild (or "build")?
 
i would go with the sohc. more power and more options for upgrades.
 
But switching from an EEC-IV to an EEC-% engine isn't the easiest conversion in the world.

Frankly I'd recommend another 4.0

You might want to consider simply getting another 4.0 engine...

Have plenty of OHV's to choose from down here.

How hard is the swap?
