:yahoo:For those of you that are not sure if using washers has a good result or not... Great lift for under $30, Also this is not even 2'' of washers, its like less than 1.5''. The store ran out, but ill go buy some more to pack it all the way i can!!! Also if your are considering on buying those rubber coil spacers, check out how mine ended up within a couple of months... you be the judge. so...you replaced a bushing with washers stacked up??


talk about sketchy and unsafe. Get the **** off the roads.
 
Actually welded washers are fine as long as they are the right size. The poly bushing that is falling apart is more dangerous than properly made washer stacks.

its in the tech library. Calm down.
 
As long as the stock rubber centering bushing and steel washer are still used to keep the coil from 'falling' off the stack of washers it's fine.

I have the stud extender that came with my poly spacers, if that is what u were tryng to explain. the washers wont go anywhere unless the stud thread peels off.:icon_thumby:
 
what brand spacer lift was it?

I cant really remember, but they were bout $60 SHIPPED. I cant stess this enough... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR... from past experiences.



Okay, found reciept. "Fusion Lift" is the brand. From ebay.

i have a daystar kit im putting on soon so hopefully i wont run into that problem with mine.
 
Nice lift for just a few washers! I just put Skyjacker leveling coil springs on my '97 2wd, and got more lift than I expected -- about 3" (granted, the original springs were beat.) Problem now is, my alignment [camber] is way out, and I am not sure I can get it back into spec.

Did you do an alignment after your lift?

You basically have 2 options, either take the truck to an OFFROAD shop and have them align it, or get some adjustable bushings from NAPA and dial it in yourself. The issue I take with the offroad shop, is it's kind of pricey.. My local shop wanted $150 because they have to install 0° bushings, check, and then put in the right bushings. I guess they charge for all the installation and parts and labor.. I just went to NAPA and spent about $70 on adjustable bushings and put them in myself in about 30 minutes. Granted you'll need a professional alignment afterwards, but it should still end up being cheaper than having an offroad shop do the whole thing. Hope something in there helps! If you want the part #'s for the bushings let me know and I'll post them up for ya :icon_thumby:

Edit: Also when you correct the camber, it'll inherently throw the toe out of alignment, just so you're not surprised lol.

I havent gotten one, but i need one asap before my tires start wear out. To get the alignment im pretty sure youre going to need the new camber bushings, I got mine a long time ago, when my truck used to be lowered.
 
Thanks Greenster and RangerRyan for your advice. My local alignment shop said my camber is about 5 degrees positive right now. I ordered from RockAuto Moog Part #K80109 camber bushings which are supposed to give up to plus or minus 4 degrees camber adjust. I am hoping I'll get close to a decent alignment with these. We'll see how it goes....
