While underneath my Ranger (with the truck in neutral and the parking brake on), I was checking the "play" in the driveshaft, and also checking to see if the slip yoke needed greasing.
In the process of doing this, I happened to push up on the driveshaft and the driveshaft and transmission together moved vertically (up) a bit.
Was this engineered or designed to provide some mechanical "relief?"
Thanks for your help and assistance.
