Questions for the 4.0 swap

Can the FM146 transmission bolt up to the 4.0 from a 94 explorer? Can i use the 2.9L motor mounts for the 4.0? Can my 2.9L pacesetter headers work on the 4.0? Let me know guys!!!

yes they bolt up to each other 4.0 can break that tranny though 2.9 mounts bolted right up for me I doubt the headers fit I would start by checking exhaust gasket applications

I really doubt the headers will bolt up.

Yes the top part of the header MAY have the same bolt pattern,
but the 4.0 ports are bigger, the 4.0 block is taller which means
the heads are both higher and further apart...

So while the headers may bolt up you'll never be able to install
the Y-pipe portion of the headers.
