Yes, the WHOLE album all the way through...

But between you and me I don't listen while ripping.

My software (EAC) makes an accurate wav copy of an album
in just a few ticks ovver 3min, it takes about the same to create
a set of mp3 files from the wav (seperate operation Using NCH Switch Sound)
then I use a different software package (TagScanner 5.0) to "tag" the files
with fairly complete id3 tags.

It's kind of an "assembly line process" where I just feed CD's to my "hungry"
optical drive every 3min or so.

then I make the compressed files as a batch operation
(I leave it running while I'm out)

Tagging is easy with the software I use.

I have every song I've ever had near a computer
on three seperate hard drives on my computer.

that doesn't count my optical backups... you can fit an awful lot of mp3's onto a DVD+R disc.

I am listening to certain ones before ripping. to see what songs I want, not all of them are being ripped.

[EDIT] specially ones I haven't listened to in a while, don't remember whats on them [/EDIT]

but I am just using Media player 11 ? the latest version..... I am skipping the WAV step and going right to MP3. I did 65 CDs today. I have enough music on my MP3 player that I would have to drive to Seattle and back before it started to repeat... and I still have 3.2g of the 7.6 I started with left.

When you said album, I thought you meant vinyl. The last vinyl album I listened to was Boston - Third Stage.

Jim,

No, any media is good, I have an extensive Vinyl collection and
I've been sifting through it lately mainly to create a "wish list"
of stuff to buy... on CD

But I'm not ignoring new stuff... if they play it on Sirius "Octane"
there's a better than 50/50 shot I'm gonna wind up buying it...
or already have it.. :)

Just between you and me I think the first two Boston albums
were pure genius, the third displayed too much of Tom Schulz's
OCD, but was still good... "Amanda", "I think I like It" "Can'tcha Say"

the fourth was simply "Delp-Less" and I could never get excited about it. I have a copy on CD, but I've never even once been able to listen to that album all the way through.

BTW, just ending:

A Perfect Circle - eMOTIVe

(A Perfect Circle is essentially Tool vocalist Maynard Keenan
in front of a different band)
