01-03 Edge/4x4 Hood?

I want to change my '03 XLT from the chrome/ bar style grille and plain hood to the mesh grille with powerdome hood. I work in a body shop and tried to price the parts today, but they told me they only have one style hood from '98 to '03, which I assume is the hood I already have. They said the hoods with the raised center panel are from '04 to '08, but they have the cutout over the grille. Where do you guys get your powerdome hoods without the cutout?? I know the exist, is there not an aftermarket version? I'm heading to the junkyard tomorrow and crossing my fingers!
 
Thing is, 01-03 powerdome is not made in the aftermarket at all....you are stuck to junkyards for that hood. 98-03 hood is exactly what you have now. You can however, run the grille your want and keep the hood that you have...it'll work with no issues. My little brother ran that setup for a long while before finally finding a powerdome on his '01 XL.


The 'cutout' you are talking about, are 04+ trucks...you'll need a hood, header panel, grille to fit it. Only option for the 01-03 fiberglass powerdome is hitting up junkyards.
 
Dang... I guess I'll order my grille and use it with the current hood until I find something. I don't really want to go to the 04 + style. Thanks for the info!

01-03 Powerdome will fit all 98-03 trucks.

That Casper guy has one HAWT freakin' truck.....98 truck with powerdome hood and 01-03 bumper and valence. effin' hawt!
 
cool!! and yeah casper has one kickass truck, im going for that bumper too, and hopefully for the power dome...
