Explorers have their lower shock mounts on the lower spring plates. Generally speaking it's easier to weld spring pads to the explorer tubes and fabricate shock mounts. as for U-bolts and spring plates? Got a u-pull-it junkyard near you? the pieces from an F-150 4x4 are the right size for the job AD
