I picked this trans up today. I guess he power shifted the trans in to second gear and now its really hard to shift in to second and fourth gear. The trans has 48k on it and it came out of a 2002 fx4 lvl2.

Anyways, all I need is the output shaft. I took the housing off and noticed what looks like stress cracks. My dad said he thinks they are supposed to be there but I think the output shaft is junk.

Sorry for the crappy picture. My g/f has my camera.

RELAX, some people have lives away from this website...

That the SECOND shaft I've seen like that...
the last one is on my workbench.... in two pieces.

It was in my truck it broke unexpectedly, snapped right off...

Yours being out of a 4.0SOHC truck makes the output shaft PROBABLY different
from any earlier M5OD-R1 4x4 as the 4.0SOHC is supposed to be an M5OD-R1HD

I'd absolutely LOVE to have an opportunity to examine that trans in detail to see what exactly is different about an SOHC Mazda Vs the others... but I haven't caught up to one yet.

You can have it if you want. The entire thing is taken apart.

I might end up buying the output shaft you have, seems like I'm having bad luck finding parts. All of the shafts I can find are for automatics.

More pictures later today. I left the camera at the shop.
