I realize there have been many posts on this in the past, but i am not finding exactly what i need. I am debating switching my 1986 4x4 2.9l a4ld tranny to a manual tranny, because it is currently inoperable.
I would really appreciate some information on the basic stuff. I have seen plenty of posts on specific questions relating to this, but i am very inexperienced with transmissions.
so i have some basic questions that would be awesome to know before i proceed with the project ...
1)level of difficulty. I am quite competent enough to figure anything out, but i am worried about being overwhelmed or lack of equipment
2)what should i look for with the swap? i.e. easiest swap
3)the basic process-i would like to know what i'm doing before i dive in and get stuck. like an overview of the whole process
