Hey all,
Just joined the forum. Helped my Dad find a truck yesturday. He bought an 88 Ranger XLT 4x4 standard cab with the 2.9l and manual tranny from my neighbor that has had it since new. The truck seems to be in very good condition for its age and will only need a few minor things worked on to be a good commuter for his 6 mile trip to work. He will have to take a good bit of crap at work since he has been an avid Chevy fan, plus from me since he made a few choice coments about my 78 F250 when I picked it up a few years ago. He is now selling his 90 Chevy Silverado 1 ton 4x4 454 and I am sure the first few times he fills up will confirm that he made a good choice. Anyway, that's about it from me. Also if anyone can recommend a good repair manual to use I would appreciate it. Not sure if there is a source for the Ford shop manual online or not.

Cheers

Thanks for the link Dave. I have the Ford manual set for my 78 and agree that it is the best. Picked up a Haynes for 3 bucks at a used book shop, but they always seem to leave a lot of info out. I am hoping the Chiltons I have coming in later this week is better.

So far I know I need to replace a few dash lights, Find out why the tach needle is sticking, fix the cruise control, and dig into the wheel bearings on the front driver wheel. I will be posting a question about the bearings, since I would like to rebuild the manual hubs and lube the spindle bearing while I am at it if it is not too much more trouble.

Cheers
