pop-out windows?

im curious.. did any rangers have the option of pop-out rear windows in the extended cab? my uncle's s-10 has them and i though they could be quite convenient but have never seen a ranger with them. just a thought.
 
The trim around my fixed rear side windows looks like pop-outs were an option in 93. Don't remember seeing them listed as an option though.
 
If I'm not mistaken, it's not hard to install pop out windows in a Ranger that didn't have them originally...

I think Allen D might know more about it...
 
interesting.. i assume if theyre all the same size window one could presumably could find the actual window in a junk yard and just pop off the current one and screw in the old one? (making sure the weather stripping is still good and everything)
 
yeah its only like 3 screws you need a latch too but i think you could probably do it
 
That's not an option for 98+ 4 door trucks, unless you want look into some real custom mounts.
 
I installed pop-out quarter indows on my truck long ago...

Funny thing is that I almost never use them.

They are far better at making wind noise than ventilating air.

Frankly my swapped in Explorer pop-up sunroof is FAR
more effective at getting the hot air out of the truck.
 
haha well i have the rear slider and with all 3 windows open ventalation is more than fine i just thought it'd be cool to have the option of the quarter windows. was it an option for 98+ 2 dr?
 
A 2 door wouldn't have quarter windows...

All rangers 98+ has the opening rear doors.

Only in Canada, in the us you could get a 2door ext cab, it (looks like in pic's never seen one) used the same cab as pre 98, that said it might be possible to do the swap.
 
interesting...didn't know that!
 
i have a 00 and that is only a three door..............oh wait , that is because the fourth is frozen shut

though i would like to find a way to get pop out quarters for it , and get a power explorer sunroof
