I'm thinking of upgrading to a performance throttle body for my (2000) 3.0. I already have a Volant cool air intake, JBA Headers and JBA cat back exhaust, but am having trouble finding the performance throttle body. I contacted BBK, and they said they were working on one for the 3.0, but that was about a year ago, and still nothing. Everyone has one for the 4.0, but none (that I have seen) have one for the 3.0 Any ideas on where to look?

Simple.
Install a throttle body from a 3.0 Duratech engine from an ESCAPE.
The one from a Taurus or a Sable's throttle cable linkeage are 180 degrees non compatible.
The Stock Ranger is 50 mm the Escape is 60 mm.
Make sure you check for perfect seal at the seat. If there is any leak throug the IAC your idle speed will be off, you'll be sucking too much air and your motor will run poorly or will not hold a correct idle. Not to mention your Check Engine Light will come on.

Yeah you'll probably have to get the MAF to go with it as well. I even had to take out my K&N filter cause it was messing with the fuel mixture. Would shift bad in low gears and eventually set my oxygen sensor off. A bigger throttle body will have the same affect you'll get a bloated dry engine.

Nothing that You have described here happened when I installed mine. I even have raced my truck without the air filter with no negative effect. But definetly there will be much more improvements if You do everything propperly.
However I did not change anything (except install a plastic reducer so that I could keep the same cold air system).
There are a ton of beneffits if you upgrade the system for a 60mm Throttle Body.
Just make sure you do your homework.
Make sure the MAF sensor is compatible. Oil the K&N air filter according to the instructions so that you don't end up with a messed up MAF sensor.
And then enjoy your toy.

I forgot to mention that I also have a JET MAF installed. What year Escape should I be looking for?

The Duratech is 4 valves / cylinder, and will flow more air, that is the reason for the 60mm TB. All it will do on a Ranger 3.0L is screw up throttle response,
no more air will flow because it is only 2 valves / cylinder.

Why do people insist on screwing up an intake system already tuned to be as efficient as
possible?
