will a explorer cluster with the rpm gauge, will it plug right in on my 94 ranger??

Pretty sure

I am pretty dan sure it will, I had a Explorer with a bad tach and I got a replacement from a boneyard Ranger, I think the dash and cluster on the 91-94 Explorers are identical to the 93 and up Rangers and the 1990 Bronco II:icon_thumby:

93 and 94 are the same but 92 and previous have different wiring pinouts on the instrument cluster. They can be used but some wires have to be swapped in the connectors.

Yes, just so long as it looks similar of course. If your vehicle is a 92 or newer you need to be sure you pull your cluster from a 92 or newer vehicle, because as hawk says the previous ones are wired differently. You can tell an older one from a newer one by the color of the font used for k/mh and RPM.. For example, 92 and under the color used was gold, 92 and up were teal..
on a side note, i just did the swap on my ranger because i wanted a tach, the donor cluster came from a 93 exploader.. :icon_cheers:
