hey guys
got a 88 B2 w/ A4LD. unfortunetly, the clutches are slipping, as seen when my rpm stay the same and my speed increases, and when it slips into third

i really really need this tranny to last. i was thinkin of usin a BG flush machine and chemicals to flush and clean the tranny, then puttin a new filter and pan seal on it, then usin the BG conditioner. but on the other hand, i have also heard that doing this on trannys in bad condition can completely blow them out. was lookin for advice on what to do and hopefully improve the clutchs and/or just make this thing last.

i know a guy that can rebuild it for 300 + parts, which i can do, but im really just not sure if the parts are even still available for this thing!

thx for any input!

Any part you want can be found at http://www.makcotransmissionparts.com/ . I bought a tranny cooler for the Taurus from them last fall, seems like a good place.

I also assume you meant that your speed stays the same but the rpm increases when it slips.

under normal acceleration, the rpms will stay the same and the speed will increase. when it slips from 2-3, then the rpms jump before catching the gear. hence, im pretty sure the clutches are slipping and the need for advice on making this thing last. cant afford rebuild atm, but in 2-3 months i can, and hopefully will, with upgraded parts.
