on my way home from work last week the overdrive light started flashing and it would not shift into overdrive. i regularly drive highway 65-70mph so this is a big problem. Ill be the first to admit i do not know anything about transmissions so it went to the shop, reset the code and said it would be fine. wrong. on the my way home same thing. So i took it back and they said a solenoid needed to be replaced in the transmission (again i know nothing about this) and i was assured this would fix the problem. wrong again. He said he pulled a different code about a valve sticking after he replaced the solenoid the first time and on my way home the truck did the same damn thing and wouldnt shift to overdrive. So now the thing sits in my garage and i dont know what to do with it. I dont want to get hosed but cant fix it myself so selling it is not out of the question. My truck is a 99 4x4 with the 4r44e transimission. Does anyone have any ideas what i can do with this thing before i go blow another weeks paycheck on junk i dont need? any help or ideas would be appreciated.
