I'm going from an '88 standard cab, long bed 2.9L ranger, lowered 3/4 sittin on 20's to an '01 exteded cab (4 door) 5 speed manual and shift ont he fly 4 wheel drive.

Is ther anything about the 3.0L that i should know? I read through the tech page on it and it seem like a descent and reliable motor, maybe a lil under powered on low end which seems fixable with the 7.1:1 rockers. Any input on your likes and dislikes on this thing would be greatly appreciated.

I hope you don't have 7.1:1 rockers... :icon_confused:

magnaflow sounds great, not as loud as flowmaster or jba but has a smoother sound

underdrive pulleys would most likely give a huge improvement, the accesories feel like they kill that engine

other than that no real problems

ahh my bad, a lil finger spasm 1.71:1 rockers. But i did pick up the truck about 20 mins ago. I like it so far. With the 5 speed it accels way better then the '88 2.9L with A4LD did. It was slowed down by some 20" wheels to though lol. I'm gonna break her in good this weekend with some 4x4ing and camping.

Thanks for the input.
