This is a problem that for some reason just got worse. i have a 1995 splash 4.0 4x4 . a girl at my work just had her reverse go in her 1996 explorer and she asked me if mine ever messed up . well i told her no and my truck seamed real tuff.... that day i went to shift it into reverse and it was slipping . 
. my forward gears have always shifted a bit funny, like a drive shaft joint was bad or somthing . but it is not . so i got home and put a new filter in it and it had burnt smelling fluid in it and maybe 6 metal bits on the magnet. well i changed the filter and it did the same thing. reverse will only kick in if you are rolling down hill . if you are going up hill u have to really give it the gas to kick it in .. my tranny is shot correct!!
no big deal i needed a parts car eather way . .. what year explorer trannys will fit a 1995 ?
also do u think my forward will last for a bit ?
got to love sick days at work ... I think ill take 2 days off if i need to pull the tranny .
