took a old 8.8 cover that had rust-through holes, painted it with chrome spray and hung it underneath the taurus, next i need a 4x4 emblem for the trunk deck. looks real at first glance.

its been a busy day, i did the cover yesterday but just got a pic today. the fire ring i did out at the farm, took me 2-1/2 hrs to build. had the day off and i feel like ive done more than ive done all week. need a hot shower and some rest now, got to be up early tommarrow.

it has that camber lean due to the addition of some coil helpers. i put a section of pipe between the lower rear control arms to act as a axle housing for the bottom of the coil to mount to, the top of the coil rests on the underbody. it has that "musclecar rake" now, good thing too, the headlights needed lowerd and were out of adjustment. raiseing the butt of the car effectivly lowered the headlight aim. sure its a bit stiffer now, but the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. ive noticed no uneven tire wear in the last 10,000 miles of useage. got tired of the rear swaybar links breaking so ive done away with them, with the stiffer rear suspention its unnesesary to have them anyhow. heres a pic of when i put the coil helpers in.

just the std 3.0 vulcan. its a good match for the chassis, ive gotton as high as 28 mpg highway with it before. gets about 23-25 around town, not towed much with it. from what ive heard about the AXOD auto's they do good staying togther just moving the car, dont want to blow up the trans when ive got a ranger i can tow with, the taurus is just my backup plan should the trailer need moved and the ranger is down. this car was a really good deal, got it in '03 with only 26,000 oringinal miles on it, belonged to the grandmother of my sisters husband. its got 116,000 on it now. i only paid $2,500 for it. could have doubled my $ the day i brought it home but i chose to keep it. its had its moments but overall has been a good vehicle.

no, thats the way it goes, ring gear to the l.h. side and the cut-outs on the cover down. but it is irrelavant. im sure most wouldnt even get the joke, my mom for instance wouldnt give it a thought. the rest of us though would look twice.

Yeah the 3L is Awesome in that car, half the reason I got the 3.0 in my truck, what you heard about the AXOD is true the one in my bros car was on its way out, if you drove it like a "normal" person/old lady it was fine but when he got in it he drove like a teen, it would act up, something to do with a plastic seal/collar, it would just slip in gear. But none the less one of the best highway cars of my youth, CC, AC, and stable like no tomorrow.

this is my box trailer, its a 6x10 haulmark, weighs in at 1,000 pounds empty, probly has a good 100-125 pounds tounge weight. i hooked it up to the car in a parking lot last year after the suspention upgrade just to see how the rear would take it. the stock rear suspention would have been bottomed out. i think i only dropped 2 inches with my upgraded suspention.
