Did you instal a 2.9 for another 2.9? Do you still have the old engine? This last
spring, I installed a 4.0 out of a '00 Explorer into my '98 Ranger. I started to
just slap it in hook and run but quickly changed my mind when I took the time
to check out all my connections. I had to change fuel rack, sensors, injectors,
and wiring harness, or I would still be inventing.

Many of the connectors had additional wires or the new male plug wouldn't
connect to the old. It took about half an hour to swap allon the stand, then
everything went right together. HTH

Also as a side note, there is always room for the oops factor also. It went in
quickly, and I was right proud of how fast it was comming together,,,,, till I
started it. It started right off, but didn't sound right, and when reved would
back fire.:dunno: :temper:  After some fussing and short break, I
decided to check the book again for the firing order. The page had flipped
back a page and it caught my eye, SOHC. Not my engine. I turned back a
couple of pages, hooked the cables correctly and did it ever sound good.
