A few weeks ago Rangerslim helped me lower my truck
03 xlt supercab. Used 2" drop spring from Roush and did the rear shaclke flip.
I'm in need of new shocks. Do I replace with stock sized shocks or go to something shorter?
One more question. The bump stops:icon_bounceblue: on the front suspension are less than .25 from making contact, it does affect my ride to a small degree, tolerable for a while. Can I cut down those bump stops or would I be better replacing with smaller polyurethane stops?

Thank you for any info and ideas:icon_thumby:

Shocks - front or rear? For the rear you can use Nissan shocks from their small trucks. I have them on mine, 93 Nissan Truck. They are 2 - 2.5 inches shorter than Ranger stock. As for the front - no idea, and bump stops - bell-tech sells some shortened ones, I am thinking of getting them for the back of mine - no problems in the front though. I would not see any issues with cutting them down or replacing with new ones.

Best of luck - let us know what you do - also what were the part numbers for your components - I want to add them to my article.

Thanks

parts

I got the drop springs from Hillbank motorsports back in December 08, I don't have the parts box any more.
All I did for the rear was flip the shackles, which were mounted with 3nuts/bolts washers and large rivet per side, I got the bolt info from TRS.
Sorry I wasn't of more help

Doetsch nitro slammer shocks FTW! and you can just trim your stock down or go with some universal DJM low profile ones.
