Can I add more leafs to my rear leaf pack?

I have an 88 ranger and i have some leafs i would like to add to the leaf pack. I was wondering that if i could use an ordinary bolt to hold the pack together? When i add the leafs im planning on removing the spacer block in the rear suspension to make the truck stay level.
 
Yes you can use an ordinary bolt instead of a center pin. Make sure it is a grade 8 bolt and you will have to grind the head of the bolt round so it will fit in the hole in the spring perch.
 
Just use a couple of big C-clamps, like 6-inchers. When I did it on my truck, I used a long bolt, set the leaves on the ground in order, put the bolt in them to get them in place, then put my knees on the overload leaf (or whatever) to get them packed enough to get a nut on the center bolt. Then I just zapped it on with an impact. Then I cut the bolt to be just long enough.

I don't know about the torque to put them on at. I would use a lock-nut. I can't imagine it's too-too critical.
 
where do you get the extra leafs? and which ones to add and where to add to? i would love to do this
 
I took apart a set of B2 leaves I got and added the ones I wanted into my old Mazda. Ended up being 6 leaves I think. Actually smoothed the ride out and added some lift.
 
When i bought my 88 i also bought an 89 ranger. Since i was un able to remove the complete setup, i removed all but the main leaf on each side.
 
and how fat can you stack them? can you get a picture of what you did?
 
Since im still in high school, my plan is to run to the parts store this week, and do this this weekend. My overall reason for this post was to find out what i need to preform this project, cause ive heard of it done, but i want to try it myself. As soon as i am completed with this, iwill attempt to post pictures.
 
I did the suspension modifications during the week. As for how tall I stacked them is there are now seven leaves at each corner in the rear. Each side has two over load springs in the pack. Today when i hopped in the back of the truck, and made the suspension flex, there was a squeeking sound. I was wondering how i could fix this.
 
put grease inbetween the leafs?
 
don't put that much on, i would let it rub for a little while then take it apart and put a small bit on the shiny spots. if you put too much on it will capture dust and dirt and be very messy
