I'm just starting to have a problem where the truck seems to buck\stall while driving it. It don't do it consistently yet. It's acts like a light switch that's being flipped on and off, shudders for a few seconds, then smooth's out. I'm thinking it's something to do with ignition\spark rather than the fuel system. I need to do some reading on what components make up the ignition system, so I need to know what kind it is, how it works, basic troubleshooting steps, etc. I'm not a gear head, but I can do the simple stuff, coil pack, plugs, plug wires. I've been searching the Inet for info, but as usual, way too much useless info to sift through.

Thanks

Do a search on OBD-II, and Ford EDIS ignitions. Plenty of info.:)shady

Is the Electronic Control Module a separate component? If it is, where's it located? Or is it incorporated into the Power Control Module? And is the Power Control Module related to or part of the Electronic Control Unit? I'm a bit confused. I searched for Ford EDIS Ignition, I read about the Electronic Control Unit, I looked it up, trying to find out the cost. That led me to the Power Control Unit, which led to the ECU.
